Life lesson: If your car makes a quick succession of beeping noises at you when you walk away from it, don't just say, "Hmmm, I've never heard that before" and keep going.

It is trying to tell you something.

As in, "Come back here and turn me off, you idiot."

Wasn’t it just easier when you had to turn it off and take the key out of the ignition?

Yes, at times. This was my husband's car, but I was there as a witness. Since I never drive it, I just took his word for it. Thankfully, we were just running in to pick up an online order and came back in about 5 minutes to an unlocked, still running car.

My late best friend could do stuff like that. She once lost her cell phone. Left her car running, with the driver door open, her purse on the passenger seat with cash sticking out (over $700), and it was all there when she found her phone and came back.

We laughed for hours.
