Dave is encouraging people not to use Spoutible while using Twitter. So the guy mislabeling news outlets and flirting with Nazis is fine, but the guy trying to protect people from abuse, targeted harassment, and disinformation is concerning?

I don't know who David Troy is, but his pov has no effect on my choice of websites. If he has done anything he has convinced me to stay on Spoutible. Since he feels the need to put down other sites because apparently, he doesn't like how they are structured his unsolicited advice means nothing.

Yeah. If you're warning against Spoutible while participating on Xitter, that says a few things about your motives. Namely that you have a double standard, that you think Nazism, abuse, and sedition are less problematic than whatever issue you have with Spoutible, and that you're probably a racist.

I noticed that David Troy didn't mention any acceptable sites. As far as I know the only site that was corporate based was Twitter and its corporate structure was destroyed by one narcissistic individual named Elon Musk and this guy stays only because he has a large following. That's a lame excuse.

@DaveTroy is probably speaking from a place of paranoia given what has happened at Twitter. He is calling for a transparent board (if that is even possible).

One of my favorite things is when someone on social media declares X like an edict on high, and then assumes their pearls of wisdom shall be heeded + revered by all… but I’ve never heard of them or known of their existence. I don’t get out much… 😄

Apparently he seems to be a reasoning person researching based data and then comes up with this answer denoting superficiality, selfishness and abject calculation only useful for his visibility, losing critical sense and objectivity. Life in the end it's abt choices and those determine who you are

I mean, he has a point that, for any centralized system in private hands, there's a price that will put it in the hands of bad management, and we should be wary about everyplace, including here. But taking that stand on Twitter makes him an illustration of the problem, not a prophet of the solution.

You nailed him and he admits it... "Because I have a large audience here..."

He's unfortunately not the only one tacitly wanting to keep people on Twitter, being more worried about his own following than Twitter being used on behalf of authoritarians to spread propaganda and disinformation.

At any rate, the fact that he mentions Spoutible but not Post.News stands out as a clear sign of this platform's success, after all Post has been around for longer.

Personally, I feel I get much more engagement on here than on Post.

"will not be investing further in private 3rd party sites without fully transparent corporate governance."

So what exactly would that governance entail? Is that just empty hedging on his part, or could he be made to change his mind?

His concerns seem to be with regard to considerations above and beyond "the guy", per se. Anything you can offer to address the "captured" concern he raised, or is it invalid? His continued use of Twitter is on shaky ground but then so is mine--and yours--and we all could potentially end that soon.

Please admit the truth why you are telling people not to use #Spoutible ? So tired of this.

Really gnaws at your fragile ❄️ ego that @cbouzy created this platform, and it’s thriving and successful in matter of months! Without an app!

Dumbest argument ever. We should avoid emerging social platforms because they MAY fall into the wrong hands at some point? And dude is literally shouting it from a service that’s essentially “occupied” at this point?
