Buy Nothing Groups are the vanguard of the recycle reuse movement because they aren't just about stuff: they also build community between neighbors. I live in an economically & ethnically diverse place & it is like magic. This Earth Day, find 1 near you & start giving things away.

Buy Nothing groups are popping up everywhere. If you have FB just for Marketplace you might find a local group on FB. Or Craigslist. Or a flyer on the Panera bulletin board.

Or, buy quality items used, that's how my wife ended up with a commerical-grade Kitchen-Aid and I ended up with more cake.

I have seen some amazing things offered up on the local Buy Nothing posts.

A woman had a full nursery donated by our BN folks. Someone gave away a grand piano last fall. We also got a vintage prom dress with elbow length gloves for a teen.
