#WorldBookDay What was the first book that made you lose track of time? As a mystery lover, it was Nancy Drew for me :)

When I was in 4th grade and a Junior Girl Scout, There were five of us who read Nancy Drew. Scouts met in the basement of the library. The librarian had us draw numbers, then she created a list. When the newest ND book came in, she rotated who got to read it first, then 2nd etc.

As a kid, I can remember reading the Boxcar Children series and really feeling the environments created in my mind through the instruction of the text. I still have memories now of some of the visuals that it created for me.

Honestly I don’t remember getting that wrapped up in a book until I was an adult & read Katherine by Anya Seton.

As long as it was a great experience! When I first read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I was so engrossed I almost missed leaving for work on time.
