I am still struggling with the perception that "woke" is an insult. How is being considerate, empathetic, inclusive and tolerant the problem???

The word “woke” had been part of the Black American vocabulary for more than 100 years, to wake up to the effects of inequality and stay woke. Anyone who uses the word as a pejorative is dog whistling “Black people”.

Woke us not the problem..it’s the people that say it is who are the problem!! Woke is awareness. It’s waking up or opening your eyes to something new. Usually a breakthrough or an aha moment! Not turning a blind eye to injustices pertaining to race, sex, religion, class etc!
