If you have offspring 16-17, I encourage you to STRONGLY encourage them to practice writing their name as a signature, like 3-5 times DAILY.

My kiddo + pals reached legal / voting age w/o a set sig.

Kiddo’s 1st ballot got kicked b/c signatures on voter card + ballot not a match!

I vote by mail but they do compare signatures closely to the request for a ballot. I take a photo of my application so that I can be sure they match closely enough for the Republicans in my red state who would love to disqualify me.

Some schools don't teach cursive now and most work is done on laptops or tablets. Young people can type their names in a cursive font and practice using that as a guide to develop a handwritten signature.
