I grew up in WI and remember the margarine laws. We lived close to the IL boarder and people would drive across the border to buy margarine. It was white and came with a yellow colour packet to be blended in. Such silliness!

My mother used to buy the margarine in bags. We kids used to love squishing in the colour.

We did have some "interesting" food stuffs in our past. But then I suppose most Americans find Canadian milk in a bag a tad out there so...

At the time (I was a kid) I was told it was to protect WI dairy industry. Butter is better!
