Since everyone, leave or remain, agrees that Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster, can we just rejoin?

Unfortunately not. We had a whole string of opt-outs and special arrangements and I can't see those being reinstated. Rejoining will take ages, even if it's what we want, because the EU will make sure that we're locked in so the Tories can't take us out again.

I would be happy to join without the opt outs, though I know this is a long process. But the process may start earlier rather than later!

I'd be round the Berlaymont queueing on Monday morning with my application. However, they would then give me a list of things the UK would have to do to prepare for re-entry.

Happy to look at the list, like any other country wishing to join. We are not different 😊

Ditching the pound for the euro is going to be a hard sell for some time yet.

Look, I'd love to rejoin. But it takes some time for the hosts to forgive you for shitting on the carpet and being sick all over the hall carpet as you stumble drunkenly out of their party yelling abuse.

If both parties agree, I think the EU would have us back. What they would not want to happen is that, every time the government changes, the UK either joins or leaves. Anyway, this is the beginning perhaps?

Of what will be an achingly painful and drawn-out process. We will win in the end, but it's going to be a long haul.

The absolute pre-requisite, though, is the total destruction of the Conservative Work Event.

So many ppl are despising Labour and Starmer for trying to make it work, when it really can't in it's current form.
If, however, a closer relationship shows how rejoining would benefit us, even more ppl would be amenable to rejoining. It's going to be tough.
