Does American gun violence demand more graphic depictions in news?

Calls for journalists to show gruesome images of shooting victims may not be best approach to help audiences understand violence.

More gore just desensitizes--it is a poison pill. HOWEVER, US Media does have a serious content problem. Instead of rehabilitating villains our press needs to continue to excoriate them WITH WORDS. One exception to this could be when such violence is perpetrated by on duty public servants.

We don’t need to show the real carnage.

Remember the “seatbelt dummies”?

Provide innocuous graphics depicting what happens to the human body.

Imagining something is sometimes more impactful.

I also don't think anyone who dies under those circumstances deserves to have their body blasted all over social media.
