For me, probably the worst part of the CNN debacle was learning that they instructed the “town hall” participants that they were NOT allowed to boo Trump, but could only applaud him — and failed to disclose those ground rules to TV viewers. That’s absolutely inexcusable.

CNN televised a Trump rally. You can't, and shouldn't keep a US presidential candidate off the airwaves, but you HAVE TO set out and adhere to, certain limits. I believe he should be put in a soundproof booth, and his prior unhinged rant should be fact-checked in real time.

You hit the nail on its head, in my view. The media help a convicted sexual predator with free publicity. The owners of the media outlets gain by this, or they wouldn't do it. It's not journalism, it's propaganda. Journalists should know the difference. The media normalizes violent hate speech.
