Sorry to be a wet blanket, but... Of course I'm glad to be rid of the toxic nonsense on the bird site. But it would be nice to see respectfully opposing views now and then. Living in an echo chamber is how Rs got to where they are today.

You do understand that many of us are #RedStateDems and live side by side with the opposition, hearing their viewpoints every time we leave our homes? The #Trans people amongst us get to hear calls for their deaths IRL. Maybe we want a space to connect so we don't feel so alone #BlueDotRedState

Well said, Salma. At every family gathering when we discuss the issues of the day, someone says, “I’m so glad we live in a Blue state.” I feel for those of you who don’t. I’m glad that Spoutible gives you solace. 💙🐳

I'm luckily now a bit safer because of the wins in 2022 here in AZ, but I NEEDED this place before and I am so glad it exists for my other #BlueDotRedState people. It is hard knowing everyone around you hates you!

Being constantly profiled as a ‘Boomer’ and a white woman has been an eye-opening experience.

I try not to get defensive because it’s nothing compared to generational oppression.

It’s an education. I’m here to learn.

Nothing good is birthed without tremendous discomfort.

I just roll with it because statistically folks are more likely to be right in those assumptions about white women of our generations (I'm X) because the majority of us are exactly that. Shoot, in their shoes I'd do the same!
