We need to change the way we landscape. Our insects are disappearing, and that spells disaster. If you want to know more, here's a lecture that makes it all very clear: https://www.nwf.org/Garden...

1. Reduce the size of your lawn. 2. No spot is too small to plant a keystone plant. 3. Turn off outside lights, put on a motion detector & use a yellow led bulb. 4. Get rid of concrete where possible 5. put in a water feature or bubbler if possible 6. plant some keystone plants under the trees

We need more caterpillars, and they like specific plants. Plant an oak tree! Native gardens & landscapes are easier to maintain (you don't have to do much of anything!). Here are some options: https://www.nwf.org/Garden...

I shamelessly echoed my own spout, seeing another spouter suggest doing that in some circumstances. Not sure which circumstances tho! I just wanted to encourage the spread of a little hope and joy. Together, we can save insects and on up! Native plants are easier to grow. Peace and Love!

We love caterpillars here and plant lots of different host plants for them and forage for the adults.
