I went from sad to angry to nodding through a variety of ah-ha moments. Wilkerson is brilliant and she made me want to become a better informed, more aware citizen and ally.

It changed my thinking. Altho I was raised in a fairly liberal white household, this book taught me how privileged I am. I am learning to unlearn the untruths of my upbringing. I try to do better everyday. My life is easier because others suffered...and I regret that my ignorance added to that.

I totally agree. Race was simply not an issue in my younger life. I’m trying to recover from my own deficiencies by reading and listening to those who know so much more than I do. One big step for me is developing a language with which I can express my concerns.
