I need someone to explain to me why it’s always “if you can’t pay rent, buy fewer lattes and avocado toasts” and not “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage, buy fewer yachts and real estate”.

Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.

It started in the 80's with Reagan convincing people that trickle down economics would work.

Then the corporations convinced people that if they gave their front line workers raises they would need to raise prices and that no one would be able to afford that. -

Now we are required to tip because the restaurant giants convinced congress that they couldn't and have to pay a living wage to their wait staff.

Now corporations fill the pockets of the greedy congress to do their bidding instead of the people bidding.

Even during the depression when almost everyone lost something there has always been a war against the poor and unfortunate.

Unless we (the lower and middle class) stand up and fight for ourselves it will only get worse.

While there are far more of than them, they know they hold the power and we can't afford to rock the boat

But at some point we have to
We need to hit them in wallet they way they hit us
Some call for a nation wide work stoppage
I just don't know if enough of us can risk everything to make that work
