I will split the difference. Bacon is and will always be the best meat as a breakfast side, but sausage, kielbasa, ham, andouille, chorizo, & the like are better in omelettes.

The foil isn't essential, it just makes cleanup easier for me. I have friends who like bacon from their air fryer, which is essentially a convection oven, but I wouldn't expect it to come out the same as a venerable toaster oven with a top heating element.

I line the toaster oven pan with foil. Makes it easy to pour off the rendered bacon fat. Experiment with your own toaster oven for the perfect time. You will never go back to frying bacon. Way less mess & spatter, too.

We have an Air Fryer type of toaster oven. We will give that a try. I will Google aluminum foil and air fryers for a safety check first. Thanks
