But when you're alone as much as I am in the summers (academic on a small campus where there are few in person summer classes and no one is around), things like that loom large.

One thing I noticed when I was SUPER isolated during the worst times of covid was that any mildly unpleasant human interaction - or even one I interpreted as such - would loom LARGE and could spoil my whole week. I don't know how to fix that.

perhaps that's just my own brand of being slightly ND/socially awkward - I remember unpleasant interactions and either think "oh no that person HATES me" or "they made me look stupid" or something else that will lead to be being rejected/culled from the group

and it's definitely better when I am getting a lot of interactions in a day, it's easier to shrug those things off. But since the pandemic I've had fewer in person interactions
