I live in North Bergen, NJ. It's 2:06 PM, and our sky looks like Mordor from Lord of the Rings because of the Canadian wildfires. This is insane.

Speaking from experiencing the CA wildfires don't leave the house without a KN95 or better mask @cbouzy . Stay indoors as much as possible. Scary times, for sure.

So sorry that you have so much smoky air.
Please stay aware of the AQI numbers - I use purple air and the “air quality “ app. And then plan your activities accordingly
Yes, I suggest you wear a N95 mask outside for easier breathing

I'm down in South Jersey and while it doesn't look that bad we can smell it as well. Hard to imagine fires in Canada having an impact this far south and even beyond.

You know L.A. has looked like this a couple of times in the last 30 years. There was a rain of ash fall for days, too-I had to wash off all the plants in my parent's yard where Dad had been a Master Gardener. The driveway was covered 1" deep. And there have been orange skies. Not saying it's not ba

That was us here in New Mexico last year.

during 2022 windy season the USFS decided to do a burn & didn't properly put out a burn, that smoldered under snow all winter -- So we lost 340 THOUSAND acres of watershed forest.

I now have lots of air filters. Stay safe.

Yes, I have multiple air purifiers that I bought before the pandemic to protect my asthmatic son. They kept him out of the hospital when our air became hazardous during Oregon's fires.

Sincere apologies from Nova Scotia! We are grappling with approx 26000 hectares of wildfires and lost over 200 homes. Our first responders are working hard to get them out. #NovaScotia

Folks in Montana have been dealing with this for years. The Missoula County Health Department has online info on how to deal with smoke, as does
Missoulaclimate.org, including how to make your own indoor air filter with furnace filter and box fan. Indoor air can be worse than outdoor if not filtered

One "good" thing that came out of the pandemic is most of us still have masks. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.

Living in SoCal and having experienced our share of wildfires, I can tell you cars and basically anything outdoors will be covered in ash. Wash ASAP to avoid damage.
