People keep saying what a "terrible precedent" it would be to prosecute a former president, but, like, isn't it just as terrible to have elected someone to the presidency who then did multiple serious crimes? Or worse, to knowingly let the president just get away with multiple serious crimes?

Exactly. The president should be above reproach. It should be unthinkable that they would be so evil, selfish and corrupt as to commit ANY crime. It set a dangerous precedent for him to even BE allowed to run, much less win. Yes, he should be prosecuted for his crimes.

A president who can do whatever he wants with impunity and is not held accountable by the people is exactly what a king is. And the American people rejected monarchy over 200 years ago. Prosecute the tub o lard and lets move on.

Agree. The terrible precedent was allowing this con artist and life-long criminal anywhere near the Oval Office.

There wouldn’t BE a terrible precedent if he hadn’t been such a colossal fuck up.
