1/3 When I was a kid, I was bullied, non-stop, for some of my most formative years. I came out of it with no self-esteem. I looked at photos of myself at that age and I hated that person. Therapy helped me feel compassion for her, but that was 30 years later, many bad decisions later. #stopbullying

2/3 I married young, and to the first (and only) person who had ever shown any interest in me. When things went bad, I didn't think anyone else would ever want me, and I didn't have the self-esteem to think I could make it on my own. I had no family who would support me.

3/3 But I wouldn't have made those poor decisions, lacked that courage, if I hadn't been bullied. This is why I want to advocate for those who are bullied in one way or another on social media, or in life. It can ruin your life. Kindness is the greatest virtue.
