As a gay couple, we still have to plan air travel very carefully. There are so many places we can't fly over. If we have to land, we run the risk of being put to death, imprisoned or tortured for being gay. The first time we were denied boarding as a family was at a US airport. Still happens.

Unfortunately it fluxuates depending on who has political power and/or the border guard. Me? I literally stopped flying to the US. I'll drive, but not fly.

This isn't US bashing, there are lots of places I wouldn't venture into in Canada because I wouldn't be safe. But if I fly, I have to fill out a declaration at some point, and if it doesn't give me the option to declare I'm married, I can't sign it.
