Stop lifting children and babies by their hands. Lift them from their armpits instead; lifting a child from their hands can dislocate their elbow joint.

This happened to my daughter more than once before we learned better, both her elbow and her shoulder.

When I was little my elbows dislocated easily. Happened the 1st time rolling over in my crib (per family lore). Also happened on a piggyback ride when the adult was bouncing me around a lot. My parents were taught how to pop it back in themselves! It stopped happening, and my elbows are fine now :)

Oy, I remember doing that when my youngest decided to go limp in the middle of crossing the street with me lugging a bunch of groceries. Ugh.
