Brynn Tannehill did an incredible bird thread in which she absolutely roasted, set on fire, then nuked the Christian church in America. 😬

Interesting read, but makes some really bad assumptions, The worst being that all denominations are equivalent regardless of size or resources. The
"And don't start w/"Not All": Do you see any Unitarian hospitals?" is a perfect example. 1/

There's also a little matter of history and who it was that made sacrifices. Does she even know of James Reeb and what happened in Selma, Alabama in 1965?

Excellent thread! Also this articleis a good read... "The religious right isn't nearly as interested in feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless as much as using religion as an all-purpose excuse to abuse women and LGBTQ people."

Greetings - they brought it upon themselves as they are busy promoting and exploiting the tax haven they receive for their own resources.

They never really cared about helping the sick, poor, homeless and impoverish.

This is pretty horrifying. As someone who grew up in a social gospel church, it is depressing AF.

Yup.

At this point, if someone comes to be with a "Christian First" presentation, my default presumption is one flavor or another of =scammer=

Yes, good believers exist (mostly out of family history), but they don't push it on us

Wasn't there some bible warning about appearing overly pious?
