I missed yesterday's most wonderful news: the Emancipation Proclamation permanently moved to the Rotunda of the National Archives Building in D.C. alongside the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Think this would have happened under the previous administration?

I hope to someday celebrate the kind of Juneteenth Dr. King would have imagined in a society not only free but equal.

When I first learned of the Emancipation Proclamation in 5th grade, I was under the mistaken assumption that it would be kept with the other historical documents in the Rotunda in the National Archives until I hit high school history class. Its embarrassment on us as a whole that it took this long.
