here's what's interesting about this to me...

looking at it from a historic POV and say, a timeline, we are only about 160 years past the dismantling of SLAVERY, but much the mecha of white supremacy has remained intact.

armies were defeated but, philosophically, were are still in a civil war.

Yep.

As I often say, the Civil War never ended. The armed conflict ended but the war became a cold war that continues to this day.
