The process of getting one’s own or family member’s medical records from one place to another is stupidly cumbersome. If I as a physician can’t navigate the system easily and quickly, how are we to expect the general population to do it? Another way the US healthcare system fails us.

This. When my mom had a stroke, trying to navigate her care and get her records from one provider to another was a nightmare. I totally get the policy underpinnings but there has to be a better way.
