I wasn't particularly sold on this site to begin with, and this whole … thing is disturbing, so I'm bowing out. There are indeed other options, and god knows they all suck too, but I'll keep looking.

This was the official response to someone qualified pointing out that the Terms of Service lack clarity in ways that could potentially affect a lot of writers and artists, and offering to help make them clear. This is ridiculous.
Christopher Bouzy @cbouzy
No, but @courtneymilan is more than welcome to start a social media platform and write the terms of service and policies however she likes. But the policy isn't changing, nor is it being rewritten. Spoutible will not please everyone, but thankfully there are other options for those who aren't happy.

More recent Stephen Marche-isms. idk if I will actually read his book but I will definitely put it on my list of writing advice books that I might read someday, and in the end isn't that what really matters? https://www.nytimes.com/20...

I listened to yesterday's Fresh Air while lifting this morning and started the day with a reality check: a review of Stephen Marche's _On Writing and Failure_

I find titling books difficult (more so than short stories for some reason, though maybe this is just the relative dearth of practice) but I think I just finally came up with one that works for my second novel …? maybe? now to see what my editor thinks lol

Got my contributor copy of COMPUTING AND TECHNOLOGY ETHICS from MIT Press, which is a nonfiction textbook type of thing that uses several science fiction stories as discussion points, including my "Apologia," first published 2019 by Future SF Digest. First contributor copy of 2023, very chuffed

the thing about juggling multiple manuscripts, as I suppose is the thing about juggling anything at all, is that sometimes you miss a beat and everything collapses and bounces away, and you have to go pick them up individually before you can start again, and some of them are stuck under the sofa

not getting a scheduled power cut that you were ready for is very nearly as annoying as getting an unscheduled power cut that you were not ready for
