Nicolson's great here, as is Ann-Margret. CARNAL KNOWLEDGE feels semi-forgotten among fans of the New Hollywood but it still packs a wallop. It's a cold film about cold, shallow people in a cold, shallow culture. No one buys mirrors for their accuracy.

This has been their tactic from the get-go: to toxify anything related to social justice to protect white social dominance.
