I often pine to move to Canada. The people seem so sensible and sane.
It's getting unbearable here in the U.S. The American dream is turning into a nightmare for far too many. I keep thinking, "Surely the pendulum will swing back," but so far, it's not.

It always makes me feel good to find things that bring others pleasure to do them. That's why we should give kids lots of things to experience and play with, not just stereotypical things.

I encountered a similar situation, late at night, walking across a field on Isla Mujeres. Never before had I been afraid of dogs, but quickly realized I had never been around a starving pack of dogs. Felt lucky to make it home in one piece.

Dianne Feinstein suffered from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a complication from the shingles virus that can paralyze part of the face. She also contracted encephalitis while recovering from the virus earlier this year.
[If you are over 50, get the shingle's vaccine.]

It's a really awful situation in Ukraine which has enough spirit, ammo, and will to fight, but not enough air power to totally push Russia out of their country.
You know it's bad when soldiers have been doing the war so long they are numb, don't care if they live or die.

Why did CNN cave to Trump's demands for a so-called "town hall' comprised of only his supporters. All but one of the audience questioners voted for Trump in 2020.
Why did CNN give Trump a free rally on primetime TV where he could spout lies and insult E. Jean Carroll and Kaitlan Collins?

So sorry to hear one of your students was killed in this war. Every day I wonder how Ukrainians manage to go on fighting Russian terrorism. I see incredible Ukrainian people, military and civilian, demolished for what? Tsar Putin's lust for conquest? Russia's land area is the largest in the world.

Yes. Anti-abortion ideology is entangled with replacement theory. Proponents want a white America that never really existed before. Their lives are rooted in fear of immigrants, strong women, and brown people. They feel they need guns to scare "the others" who might take power or outshine them.

Texas House panel advances “raise the age” bill for semi-automatic guns | The Texas Tribune
The legislation would raise the minimum age for purchasing certain firearms but likely wouldn’t have been a hindrance to the Allen gunman obtaining a weapon. The bill still faces an uphill climb in the Legislature.

My nephew was an unpaid intern at the Oklahoma City Zoo when he was in high school. Part of his job was to dress up in a bulky, stuffy lion costume. He hated it because 1) it mortified him, and 2) it nearly gave him heat stroke in the summer months. He much preferred to feed the reptiles.
