On this January 6th, I reflect back on my visit in 2002 to the U.S. Capitol. Let us hope that our democracy does not die this year. Whatever side of the political spectrum you fall on, the will of the voters needs to be respected. Violence is never the answer. LIKE and ECHO if you agree!

This is our new 40-pound cat gate to contain the 8-pound cat behind it. Henrietta frustrates me for sure with her inability to get along with the other cats. But sometimes I secretly admire how much of a force she is in the world and aspire to be more like her. In a nice way. 😆💕

You are in for a real treat today! This is the VERY FIRST outdoor picture I ever took! This was August 1999 in Chicago, IL - an outdoor art display "Cows on Parade" included some 300 flamboyant fiberglass cows bedecked in everything from gum drops to gold leaf. What a wild time! Please LIKE & ECHO!

This one is for the early birds! To catch the sun rise from the top of the volcano in Haleakalā National Park on Maui, Hawaii in 2022 I had to wake at 2:30 am to begin my trek to almost 10,000 feet above the sea below. It was worth it - what a view! Please LIKE and ECHO if you are enjoying! #Bessie

Last Saturday I visited Nashville, today I will contrast that with my visit in 2023 to the capitol in Lansing, where the first new Michigan gun legislation in 40 years was signed into law this week. I try to avoid politics but some of this is just common sense! Echo if you agree! #Bessie

I try to keep my posts uplifting, but sometimes you can't ignore what is happening in the world. Here I am in 2001 in front of the Tennessee State Capitol, where democracy goes to die. What happened there this week is not right - even a brainless stuffed cow can see that. Echo if you agree! #Bessie

I visited Galveston, Texas in 2022 and this is me on the seawall installed after the hurricane of 1900 - the deadliest natural disaster in American history. The Galveston Seawall is over 10 miles long and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1977! Please ECHO so others can see!
