That’s crazy. Even Christopher Bouzy continues on twitter for very specific reasons. I do as well. I’m in and out of Threads where I keep all the talking heads. For now, we need multiple platforms. Sorry you were shamed for doing what so many of us do on the regular. PS I enjoy using block!

When I subscribed to NYT I was excited to learn their most read reporter was a woman! - MH

I unsub 5-6 yrs ago — for a different reason — too many ageist comments by reporters.

But you’re absolutely correct, Phred, it didn’t take long to figure out there was a relationship between Trump and MH.

It’s easy to be overwhelmed at first because there are so many great choices. Be selective with both categories and sources. You’ll also find that understandably a few will want you to eventually subscribe. It’s easy to trim until you find the right balance. Can you tell I love the news feed!?

I continue to use Twitter in a limited way. I either mute or block ads or "promotions." I haven't seen a major advertizer in ages, but perhaps it's because I follow (via lists) so few people. It's interesting to me that you see major advertizers. I thought they all left!

H&M might have been the Commonwealth's greatest asset. In retrospect, however, I'm delighted they left the "salty island" and are now global citizens based in the United States. I was pleased for Meghan before, but now I am delighted for and proud of her and her family.

Perhaps if there is a union. I would be very careful about discussing with either leaders or colleagues bc colleagues can become bosses. Can be discussed generically, but I would advise against doing so with personal information.

Years ago, I saw a large portrait of Yoko Ono’s mother at the entrance of an Eileen Fisher boutique. She had a buzz cut and looked amazing! I promised myself the same, but so far I haven’t had the nerve.

From America’s Test Kitchen-Mediterranean Cookbook, I make the Harissa spice blend. One can also purchase Harissa in a jar as a thick sauce. I’ve been adding more vegetarian recipes to my rotation and Harissa is a favorite for white beans with broccolini. Happy to share recipes.

It seems when I vet on Spoutible, you are often a follower. Ok we’re still a small community. But on X, where I linger, whenever I vet you are also there — usually along with Soledad O’Brian! Always good to see you!

Mentioned your name, not in vain, in a reply to Christopher. Hope it was okay.

Molly knows this, as I’m sure you know. I hope Christopher is wrong about this potentially being about race.

Thanks to @Phred , Angry Staffer on Twitter is impressed by the features on Spoutible, esp the ability to send spouts to other platforms. But will he change after Nov election? Guessing he’s looking for reach. Wonder what our purple owl friend thinks.

MJF complains on other platforms as well. I always mention Spoutible. It’s becoming clear that complaining is the point.

In the initial photo that I saw his face was the same skin tone as his palm. In short I’m not confident any is real. I agree with you that this is a distraction!

I assume Allie has blocked Helen F yet when I go to Allie’s followers Helen is still there. If there were many such in Allie’s followers list I might conclude that I didn’t really want to follow her. Hence the importance of the remove follower button. I could be all wrong about this.

Is this accurate? Does block actually remove the follower or does it simply (and importantly) stop their words from being seen by the account holder?

The Remove Follower button was my favorite on Twitter. I hadn’t requested it here because I thought it might not be needed. Looks like it’s a necessary option for Spoutible, too!

Same thing happened to me. Their customer service folks are very nice and usually pretty quick. They will do this for you. They verified my email for me. They also gave me a direct link when I wanted to change my password. I know how frustrating this is!!! Stick with them and it will be okay.

Part of the expense was continual visits to the audiologist for fine tuning. Now, “there is an app for that!”

I have a few more Sources, esp The Guardian, but fewer categories so may be similar balance. I also reduced # of Sources since they were repeating the same topics!
