My heart is breaking for all the men, women and children who are dying in Israel and yes I have empathy for Palestinians too. I don't have the answers for peace but I hope that they can find it soon. We are all humans chose love over hate.

Thank you so much for this! I’ve struggled to understand my own racism and biases. A few years ago I realized that I had been using phrases with a dear friend of color that were rude and disrespectful. She never said a word. I read a story that made me sob in shame. She forgave me. It made me see.

After the meeting, our mixed race member just looked at me and said, "thank you from the bottom of my heart". She said that it would mean a lot if we could circle back in a couple of months and touch base with everyone, to see how that idea was sitting with them.

I took this theory to my book club. One mixed race women, the rest of us white. Some people were very uncomfortable sitting with the idea that you should claim to be racist. Others were more open to the idea. They agreed that you can't fix what you can't see.
