Ah, an introductory post. I'm an independent journalist who does commercial writing on the side to underwrite the reporting. I'm an amateur artist and purveyor of bad jokes.

I just got the notification that future versions of QuickBooks won't be available soon. I've got 2016 and want something going forward on my desktop, not running off the cloud. Any suggestions?

I see people arguing that Trump's demand for total presidential immunity a sign of his authoritarian desire. I'd say don't forget how much it also reflects his fear of being held accountable. It's the demand of a coward and cad.

We had a successful first use of the restored 9-cup Bialetti stovetop moka pot after heavy (really heavy) cleaning, repair of the funnel, and a couple of minor replacement parts.

From me on Forbes: "Why People Want To Be Ignorant — So They Can Be Selfish"

Interesting recent study. The conclusion is that many people want to feel better about themselves but also want to be selfish.

According to Law360, the Facebook data impropriety class action is looking at a $725 million deal with 17.7 million valid claims. Even assuming lawyers didn't get a cut (LOLOLololol), that would be $40.96 on average per person payment.

No historical import or great social insight in this, so don't open if you hoped for some degree of sagacity or perspicacity.

One of mine. Reports that 33% of people work full-time from home and put in 2.5 fewer hours a day than office colleagues.

Except you can't say any of that accurately. Reporters, read the data.
