I’m fairly certain the best way to dissuade people from an argument is to state “if you’re not ‘x’ then you’re not paying attention.” It’s condescending.

I've seen some spouts already that wonder what'll happen if this place also becomes bad like Twitter. It's a bit early to panic and predict the downfall of a two week old app. Will this place be good forever? Dunno. But it's good *now* and all we have is a succession of nows.

Keep seeing this weird “lower deficits under Dem Presidents” flex. That’s nice and all but I’d really like to see a legit push for a balanced budget. Last time that happened was under a Dem Prez (Clinton), but with Repub majorities in both houses of Congress. Miss the days of bipartisanship.

Our oldest is about to 🎓 from hs and is determined to go to college out of state. So I've instituted a weekly fam game night. Tonight was fam edition Cards Against Humanity. The oldest was doing a passable Trump contestant impression, and the youngest was saying her clues a la Oliver Twist.

Hey Windows spouters: TIL that while any edit window is in focus you can press the Windows key + . and you'll get an emoji keyboard. For me, the list looks like a superset of the emojis offered using the spoutbox emoji button. Useful if you're looking for more emoji options.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but feels like there should be a more reaction-neutral icon for the 'like' button. Like 🐳 or ✔? There's some cognitive dissonance reading about tragic news, say Turkey's massive earthquake damage, and clicking on a heart. Or is it just me?
