Norman Lear passes away. A great, long life for a man blessed with 1000 years of talent, courage, compassion, social activism. He used every iota of those days. I wish I could have worked for him, but I'm so grateful for the gifts he shared with me and with everyone bighearted enough to accept them.

Terror has many faces. Twenty two years ago violent radical extremists from abroad attacked the USA, killing nearly 3000 people, including 1000 citizens of the world. On an unspeakably horrible day, for a brief moment it felt like, above all our differences, we were the UNITED States of America.
