Sorry to hear about your brother. It's such a hard one to dx. When you're ready, https://pancan.org/ has resources for those affected by #pancreaticcancer working together to fund research and raise awareness

While AI may truly be a threat - why are the people signing onto this letter some of those people/companies who have made much money for years without "guardrails" they are currently requesting. I think maybe they see someone that might be advancing faster than their own tech can???

He gave them $7M in 2015 (although another source says $10M) " that he wanted to support research "aimed at keeping AI beneficial for humanity." "called AI humankind's "biggest existential threat.""

we made the escape north from Iowa last summer. This is the 2nd time in a few weeks I've talked the family into going outside with me to watch the lights. Usually it's at 3 or 4 am

Happy to be an X that is routinely taken as younger - it surprises people and makes them realize they have to expand their thinking.

They do know "The leak occurred in a water pipe that runs between two buildings. Water is being diverted to an in-plant water treatment system to prevent water from leaving the plant until a permanent solution can be installed this spring"

H3 is naturally occurring, not just a byproduct of a nuclear plant. The EPA has had it at the current levels for years, 20,000 pCi/L would lead to an annual exposure of 4 milliREM. This is not one that needs to be on the EPAs radar to change.

The more frustrating part is that MN has banned any new nuclear, while trying to be carbon-free* by 2040. They still have 2 nukes that function well & provide cheap, reliable baseload power - misinformation will back them not supporting new SMRs. *still allows natural gas (not Carbon-free)

"There was no impact on the health and safety of the public or plant personnel." This is still true. Below levels allowed in drinking water per the EPA.

H3 is allowed in your drinking H2O. This is a low level, it is no risk to the public. There are dozens of monitoring points all over a site like this to ensure they find leaks before they ever affect the public, high oversight by State & Feds. Be more worried about underground pipelines.

Media Hysteria. I worked in nukes for over a decade (a year at this one). There are monitoring points all over the site to find this before it ever becomes a problem to the public. They have a plan to address it. FYI - H3 is in your drinking water - probably at higher levels than what they found.
