I met some of their volunteers at the LA Times Festival of Books last month, and they're excellent people. If you're the type of person who wants to do something for me, donate to Reading to Kids.

For all the good that Twitter did, it's about to become the major competitor to Truth Social and race to the open gates of absolutist fascism like a Brownshirt Sonic the Hedgehog.

I hope that, once you have moderation staff and structures in place, there is a path forward that lets you responsibly allow adult content in the future. But while you're building everything up it makes sense to not take on that rather sizeable challenge.

Thank you. 💗
Relatedly, something I've been seeing a lot in my Jewish spaces (incl. me) is pointing out that anti-LGBTQIA+ bigotry is foundational to Nazism and fascism, and we cannot ignore the parallels with today. We, as Jews, have a *moral obligation* to stand against anti-LGBTQIA+ hate.

I dunno, man. Seeing the dude fire back at a woman who gleefully enjoys playing the fool for Russian disinfo and agitprop makes me like him more. I'm sure he's got his flaws, same as we all do, but tossing Nina Turner's BS back at her isn't one of them.

With this, we're 2/3 of the way to what I've been hoping to see roll out (and the 3rd is in progress I believe).

Not remotely. But the opaqueness of the ranking system on here is going to only grow more pronounced as the site expands its reach and user base. I'd just like insight on how it functions, so I can run afoul intentionally more than accidentally.

It felt very weird to spend all weekend at the LA Times Festival of Books and not post a single thing about it on Twitter. No panel quips, no photos, nothing. But in addition to feeling weird, it felt right.

Yeah, Google+ had some fun integrations that could have made it great. I don't think the team behind it ever figured out how to use it, though.

(well, and I guess the fourth thing is for all the people and organizations that I follow on the bird site to come over here instead.)

I'm right with you, just waiting on the app but this seems to have the most intuitive UI and similar function to replace the old bird site.
