When putting bread in the toaster, do you ever wonder if maybe a bug has crawled in there since the last time you used the machine?

I invested because I believe in the product. Don't know how I would get the "investor" tag, but it doesn't really matter. Investor, "first wave"... status is illusory and unnecessary.

A few more puzzles done. I write about some of the puzzles I do in a "jigsaw junkies" blog on PuzzleWarehouse.com.

Aren't we Americans lucky? We live on the only country on earth where children with disabilities and cancer are forced to prostitute themselves on television to raise money for their medical care.

We're also the only western nation with the concept of "medical bankruptcy."

Woo hoo, go us!

I'm looking for the over-65s living in the U.S.

Why? Because a member of my household is eligible for Medicare next year and, from a quick look around, the system appears to be a huge cluster of "what the feck?!"

Parts A,B,C,D,E,F,G and who knows who needs what or what is best.

Where to start?

I have spent almost no time recently on social media. Checking in today to see what's what. Maybe someone here has figured out some bit of truth sbout the Middle East? Maybe someone knows who will be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives?

And maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt? 😁🐒

Another puzzle done. This one is 1000 pieces from Heye, titled "Doodle Skull." About 1/3 of my time was spent on the colorful bits, the other 2/3 on black.

This one sat on my table for over three months. Motivation to do most anything was missing after dad passed. I finally did some small puzzles & got back on track. I enjoyed the colors & patterns here, and the texture of the pieces. Not even vertigo could keep me from getting it finished. 3000 pieces

I've been off social media for almost a week due to my first ever bout of vertigo. Saw my doctor day 3, not much they can do. So many medical advances in the last (pick a number) years, and still nobody really understands this phenomenon. My heart goes out to those who suffer it.

The hottest summer in a decade provided plenty of "inside time" for TV. Some shows were recommended, others I found by poking around. Of everything I watched, the most enjoyment so far came from a hidden gem on Prime.

If you haven't seen "Clarkson's Farm," go have a look. I promise it's worth it.

Received these today from Blue Kazoo. I've not done any of their puzzles & am looking forward to getting these on the table. I told my wife I love the boxes (front & back images shown). She called them weird. Guess I'm on my own for the solve (kidding - she doesn't puzzle). #puzzles #JigsawPuzzles

I live in southern Utah. As politics go, a red, red area. Two days ago a friend confided in me that being exposed to my views for a decade has started him on a path towards more liberal thinking. The catalyst for his awakening? The remaining balance on his student loan was dismissed. Let's go, Joe!

Cup O' Noodles for lunch today. Took a sip before it was sufficiently cool & scalded my tongue. Lesson learned? Maybe, though based on past life experience... probably not.

Having only one arm to work with (temporarily), I haven't been doing much puzzling. I have a 3000 piece on the table, where I hook maybe 50 pieces/day. So, to feel more productive, yesterday I assembled two quick 500 piecers on the kitchen table. #puzzles #JigsawPuzzles

Today I read a post in a community FB group regarding overt racism in southern Utah schools. It's a long post, but very worth the read.

I'm at week 4 of shoulder surgery recovery. A short list of things that are difficult without use of my dominant hand:
• Pulling up pants
• Finishing a bowl of cereal
• Cutting meat
• Backrubs for my wife
• Opening a can
• Driving (I'm not, yet)

The hardest thing? Spreading peanut butter on bread.

I'm laid up for a while after shoulder surgery, and I'm catching up on some shows. A problem: When a new season comes out, I've forgotten much of what happened before. So I have to rewatch the old seasons, then move on to the new.

My timeline is having a love affair with May 21 and April 20. As I scroll, I see maybe 7-8 posts from today (July 12) followed by 10 from May 21 & then 10 from April 20. After that it's 10 from March 29, then March 20. Why those dates? Why nothing between then and now?

Edited to correct #s .

While I would like to know why I'm paying more than folks in other states, I let my Trib sub expire three years ago. Loved reading the physical paper, and continued online when delivery stopped. My hand was forced with price increases & the realization that most stories were coming off the wire.
The Salt Lake Tribune @sltrib
Monday’s average price per gallon of $3.859 was 7% lower than a month ago and 26% lower than Utah gas prices a year ago, but still 9% higher than the national average.

It's the 4th of July and I'm supposed to feel patriotic. I'm supposed to feel proud of my country. I'm supposed to be excited for barbecues and fireworks.

I'm none of those things.
