Hooking up with a co-worker is almost never a wise path. In my humble opinion, that's all it was. Two people hooking up in the heat of working together on a big case. Nothing more. NOT a for gain moment on either part. They had their short term fun and already moved on. Nothing to see here.

Fani should NOT step aside.
Recusal is NOT the right course.
There is no conflict of interest.

And again, before anyone asks, every neighborhood in NYC has different providers for cable/internet, but there are many neighborhoods that offer ONE option only, and no more than two. I was in a ONE option neighborhood.

And I mean this in an "Essential" market. Like Energy, Wifi, Internet. In each of these markets there is a monopoly everywhere. I have ONE CHOICE for internet. ONE. in NYC. That's not OK.

I think a truly FREE market is a good thing. But we don't have a FREE market in the US, as much as politicians from a certain persuasion would like you to believe.

When you are making record profits during a pandemic, that's not OK. And when you use those metrics to then fuel your need to continually increase profits, for the sake of shareholders, that's not OK.

I agree about the shaming, but disagree on companies that provide essentials earning profits. Profits are OK and fuel innovation, but when you are gouging and not innovating ie petroleum market, that's not OK. When you are reporting record profits, with no innovations to show for it, that's not OK.

I landed in Western NJ because of family. About 98% of my friends that left the city landed in Hudson Valley & Western CT. I spend a lot of time in those areas as well.

I left NYC in March of 2020 to ride out COVID. I loved being out of the city so much that I gave up my apt last year after 25+ years. I now just hotel in the neighborhood I need to be in for work about once a month. I love it. :)

The link I posted for Marcy (emptywheel) is reverse chronological order. For anyone new to her, I recommend a BINGE READING. Start from any point you like to get a grasp on what's happening. After you read one post, you will undoubtedly want to dig further back in time. Happy Reading!
