I'm not even sure that will do it. They'll find a way to not admit they were wrong; blame the disability on something else, for example.

So they did it for money and/or political gain in your opinion? Did any of them believe what they said? If not this seems like a mass murder situation.

I am just about to turn 60, ironically. But my niece (who is conservative and bought into the anti vax stuff with the covid vaccine) and her whole family caught omicron, including 2 young children. They all seemingly recovered quickly, but who knows? I feel helpless; she'll never listen.

Yes that is true. But how much of that is that they actively avoid the information? They hear one thing they like (the pandemic is over!), don't notice that we aren't getting statistics any more, and completely erase covid from their mind.

Trying to consider if that way of thinking would be 'better' in terms of being less stressful. Only until it comes back to bite them or their family, I guess.

That is true. A virus got politicized, unbelievably. You'd think that most people would have seen cases of long covid in person by now (causing them to question the propaganda) but it doesn't seem to be making any impact.

I certainly agree that could be true for many long haulers, but several elite athletes in their 20s have also been completely derailed by this also.

I agree about the increased death rate, probably due to covid but nobody is connecting the dots. But seriously a 1 in 10 to 1 in 3 chance of getting a complication (LC) that could seriously ruin your whole life isn't enough to get attention? That's a HUGE number.

I had to look up your GoodTimes reference. My husband is from Chicago but I am not. Those infamous buildings (Cabrini-Green, the 'projects') have been destroyed but their original site is probably in this picture.

OK, but isn't it also true that Texas has among the lowest voting percentages, including the younger people, compared to other states? Agree that their gerrymandering and other control measures are reprehensible. Are they also effectively suppressing the vote? How are they doing that?

Every election we hear Texas 'may go blue this time'. Seems to me it's going the other direction... would be happy to be proven wrong. The percentage of people who vote seems very low.

My dad, age 94 and in frail health, vaxxed and boosted, tested positive for covid this last summer and died less than 3 days later from it. He had many risk factors. It's still a vicious virus for the vulnerable. He had many caregivers and there is no doubt one of them brought it to him, even if

I only found out about the app recently, I became more interested in birds during the pandemic, when I was out in the yard a lot and did a lot more walking outdoors. But you are right, the sound ID is a game changer.

I don't understand it either, but in the few times we've been at a hotel since the pandemic started, we stay on a lower floor and take the stairs. Also we insist nobody comes in to clean the room until we check out.

Well, one of the many, many things I don't understand about MTG is.... does she not realize her own state is purple? You've got two Democrats as senators. So, you know, which side, red or blue, does she think Georgia is on, exactly?
