Can you please make the type on the echo/quote pop-up darker? It’s difficult for people with reduced vision to read the way it is now. Thank you.

The Soviet Union murdered millions of people and imprisoned and enslaved millions more. Maoist China committed similar crimes and has two million Muslims in concentration camps. Roman emperors killed huge numbers of people. Most weren’t religious in the way we understand the term. Same with the Huns

Josephus was also a kohen who had served in the Temple and was, I think, friendly with some of the rabbis of that generation. Rabbinic Judaism began in the 100 years before the destruction of the Temple by Rome, and there are some traces of a proto rabbinic Judaism in the decades before that.…1/

It’s fascism joined with religion, no different than the Christian nationalism Trump is promoting. It’s a mortal danger to democracy, minorities—really to all of us.

…A friend of mine lost more than $30,000 that way. It costs so much money to sue Google, no attorney would take that case unless the site owner paid at least $50,000 up front and had the resources to pay $50,000 to $100,000 more as the case progressed. Google bullies people who can’t fight back.

Google bans speech that isn’t covered by its TOC/policies. It’s notorious for this and there’s no way to appeal. It also invents infractions—click fraud that never happened &which Google has no good evidence to support, for example—& permanently bans sites, seizing all the money in their accounts.…1

…there are senior employees with access to Google’s ad system who ban sites they dislike even though Google’s speech policy/Terms of Service hasn’t been violated. Google’s “do no harm” has always been BS. What you’re doing is ensuring that opinions that are legal in your TOS will be banned by them.

Google took over the Internet ad industry in part by enforcing its speech policies and Terms of Service on every website running Google ads and on vendors trying to offload overages to Google’s ad network. Unless you’re a very large customer—NBC Univeral, for example—you can’t appeal a ban. Worse…

This is a different poll taken a month and half after the one Common Dreams wrote about. The polling methodology and questions asked are public. They didn’t ask questions about Israel or Gaza.

Also, Mint Press isn’t a legitimate news site. It’s a purveyor of fake news.

She did an awful job defending herself today. Like it or not, the fact is what she admitted doing, while legal, risks her case—something she knew when she chose to do it. If somehow Trump walks because of this, she owns that.

…Is Israel committing genocide? We won’t know until all the evidence is in and evaluated. Is it doing the best possible under the circumstances to avoid civilian casualties? I have my doubts. Obviously Biden does, as well. I don’t think this bodes well for Israel in these court cases. We’ll see.8/8

…massive damage and casualties to your army or a large number of civilian casualties, you’re allowed to choose the method that is most damaging to civilians. (There’s much nuance and detail I omitted here; it isn’t as cold/harsh irl.) IOW, civilian casualties don’t automatically equal genocide.…7/
