People talk about how Republicans were duped by Trump on everything from the supposed threat of immigrants to the "stolen" election. I argue that they're not really suckers – they know those things are false & just don't care because a reign of fascism, racism, & bigotry is exactly what they want.

I was raised Catholic, not Evangelical, but a couple years ago I started listening to a podcast called Leaving Eden - one of the hosts was raised in an evangelical fundie cult. It's completely opened my eyes to the depths that religions go to in training empathy and reason out of their members.
