My first spout is a goal / aspiration for 2023; I want to better integrate into my work in compensation the approaches of data science and statistics. Tons of data exists in compensation. I would also like to gain one 'passenger' on this aspiration.

Watching the #mnwild game, I wish there was possession stats by zone. Minnesota hardly spends time in the offensive zone, yet their opponents set up residence in Minnesota’s defensive zone and control the possession.

The referees at the #MinnesotaWild vs. #DallasStars game need to visit LensCrafters for an eye exam.

I see some sweet irony when retirees who comment that the youth of today need to work harder to afford a home are the same people being vocal about a rise in property tax resulting in their fixed income being squeezed.

Two weeks in a new home in a different state and I cannot believe it took this long to finally make the move. The unpacking sucks almost as much as the packing and even though I thought we decluttered; our stuff has stuff. Daughter loves it and she is hoping to make friends in the neighborhood.

While I have many views and opinions, I have learned in this day and age of social media, it is best many times to keep them to yourself. I wish I could impose this perspective on so many people.

I have concerns about peoples ability to read. Far too often, the answer to the question they ask is in the first sentence of something I wrote.

With these athletes having cardiac issues that is supposedly on the upswing in count (not sure if that is reality), simpletons scream the vaccine as why. Any thought that a correlation may be tied to the increase in supplements use? The GNC-like approach to “health” is more recent.

Ok Spoutible peeps - do you have a “political” issue which would likely never be adopted by a part of someone’s / some “mainstream” platform due to optics more than likely, that you wish would be a platform item? Mine is taxation of some non-profits, such as churches.

It is really amazing how being a parent changes your emotions. I now have trouble watching any episode or movie where a child is harmed. Makes my binge watching of Cold Case a bit more difficult.

Love having an app to get on here. Easy to use and supported by the great features of Spoutible.

In the battle to replace Twitter, Spoutible really took the early lead, however, the lack of an IOS application has hurt them. People like ease even without bells and whistles. Yes Thread seems have some stuff missing… but it has an IOS app.

I think it is time for #collegeathletics to fade into the sunset and have professional teams open up team academies, as is seen in soccer/football. Coaches have not been loyal to the programs who hired them, and now players are chasing the bag and glory. System no longer works so time to reinvent

If you see a pay gap issue with a company, more likely than not, the issue is not pay, it is a representation issue where there is not an equal distribution between the two 'factors' (male/female or non-URG/URG). Equal pay/pay equity is a different story. #EarlyMorningInsight #compensation

If you have to post a job a few levels above what is needed to successfully perform the duties needed, odds are high that something is toxic. Otherwise, there would be no need to over hire.

#compensation #soapbox look at internal pay before making an external hire and save yourself a pay equity nightmare.

March is a good sports month; NCAA basketball tournaments (conference and national), NHL standings taking on a whole lot more importance and then MLB regular season getting started.

It truly is crazy how having a daughter modifies you. Is she spoiled? Yes. Do I regret that? No. She is and will forever be my princess.

Please answer this honestly; if you come across a legitimate GoFundMe type campaign for a worthwhile cause (i.e. help with medical bills) for a child, and you see the parents have a strong view that differs from you (MAGA, socialist, pro/anti vax, religious), does it influence donating? #behonest

Companies who are mandating people return to the office to have face to face conversation in a global company (oxymoron there), you may want to look away.

Saw this posted elsewhere and would be curious on the “why” this has occurred in the minds of people here. #mentalhealth #teenagers #sadness

Why has teen mental health fallen off a cliff recently? – Kevin Drum
Yesterday I was reading a column in the Washington Post by Kate Woodsome about the mental health of American teenagers, and it was, as usual, startling. American teens seem to be in terrible shape. In particular, Woodsome shared a CDC chart showing that more than half of teen girls experience

It is so unfortunate to see friends, who are well educated, fall victim to propaganda and talking points they get from their social media circles, their “news” sources and worst yet, their church, parish, synagogue…

After a variety of interactions with people, in my personal and work life, I feel like there is a great need to teach logic. Boggles my mind how illogical some answers I get from people. Perhaps I am too logical and should not expect others to be…

Any recommendations for a good, collegiate level textbook, related to #Statistics ? I have enough "Statistics with R" type books. I felt like I had a great book like this in 1999 at #DePaul in one of my classes.
