It’s not just Rs. There are several Dems (at all levels) who’s pockets are lined with gun lobby $$$$. There are few politicians (anywhere in the U.S.) who have the political will to actually solve the problem. 2A gun rights has become a mental health issue, and for some, a sickness (fetish).

It’s all a mental health crisis (sickness) that needs to be addressed and properly dealt with.

Unfortunately very few- from the local to national level- have the fortitude or political will to make sound decisions to stem this massive American failure.

Agree. Your Portland example is spot on. I grew up, graduated from college & lived throughout the I-5, Willamette Valley corridor- including 6 years in Portland. I despise how people launder & white wash history. I wish people would be honest, discuss, confront & truly progress from our ugly past.

Unfortunately there is a subset of ALL social media that believes rage/outrage is debate and discussion. It’s prevalent on both sides of the political spectrum and truly becomes tiring.

Unfortunately, it’s not just Florida. This movement is present even in more “progressive” blue states. It’s simply more out in open, in your face in Florida, Texas, Idaho and other deeply conservative states.

What you’ve highlighted is still a part of all 50 states. While some states have progressed out of the civil rights movement/Jim Crow, others are openly reverting back. There’s clear ex.’s in every red state. Most blue states have moved forward but systemic racism & hatred continues to survive.

While some of their work is over the top alarmism, I do believe they have helped move the needle on independent and truly open minded Rs. This cast is another great piece by the group.

It’s so unfortunate we live in a country that allows Morrison’s books to be banned. Beloved expanded my world view on slavery and its lasting impact on our society.

While those two play a part, unfortunately, it’s a bit more complicated than that. There’s race, class and economic standing, VERY STRONG religious beliefs, FOMO and other factors. This article does a good job of outlining (with some detail) the conservative evolution.

Wow! It seems that Pissarro’s piece could have inspired Walker’s 1982 novel. The two share similar imagery. Thanks!

True, they are few and far between. Not that it works all the time, but when I do meet (or identify) more moderate minded 2A advocates I do my best to convince them to be a part of a community solution versus ignoring the (national) problem. Progress can be made!

Don’t allow the NRA to prioritize guns over children and other often targeted, marginalized communities. Please get involved with community groups/nonprofits looking to educate, reduce and regulate.
Thoughts and prayers WILL NOT stop the next mass shooting.
