Back when I was on the board of the CBLDF I got very used to the idea of comics material for adults being challenged by people who thought comics were for kids. The idea of books aimed at children being challenged just because they had positive black characters was unimaginable. The world's changed.

One of my weirdest migraine symptoms that I never see on any symptom list EVER is what I call earworm: a song gets stuck in my head and plays on repeat NONSTOP for the entire duration of my migraine. Which is sometimes days.

I write pretty much every subgenre of fantasy in YA and adult, including epic, contemporary, urban, steampunk, and now apparently dark fantasy bordering on horror. I don’t do tropes intentionally but I don’t particularly avoid them either. Grumpy x sunshine sneaks in a lot, as does found family.
