I rub it on stains before the wash. I now call it as the magic-soap.

Its a big market, I have my favourite stalls, fresh strawberries, nashi pears, lots of home preserves. Today I found a used birdbath, blue glazed ceramic, been looking for one for a couple years. Then neighbours came over with scones so …. Well, I never made oatmeal cookies, but I will get to it.

Market outing was beautiful today. This week I got my 1st hearing aids ..each day I hear sounds my brain has forgotten & stop in my tracks to listen. At the market I heard an audience clapping. I then realised the sound was coming from above .. it was the autumn leaves on theses trees talking.

I’ve been thinking of making some sugarless Oat cookies - I shall do it tomorrow. I need to use up my “past it’s use by date” dried fruit. Now to do my word puzzles. Then sleep. Walk to the farmers market in the morning to get bunnies some fresh greens for the week. Thanks so much for the chat!

In 2019 I recall a bus tour being organised by an Action group that stopped in Canada to buy cheaper insulin. I think Bernie was a supporter of that but I don’t think he was on the bus. I also recall hearing talk of commercial operators organising prescription drug shopping trips to Canada.

I recently discovered that Italian chocolates are amazing. My husband ate the first bag in one sitting, so with his agreement I now hide them …we have 2 each as a reward or celebration.

I was 10 yrs in Canada..in the 90s we’d cross into VT for groceries & clothes..lineups at the border to get back into Canada were huge .. the bins in the Burlington mall toilets overflowed w cut-off price-tags as Canadians dressed their kids in 5 layers of new clothes.. little smugglers eh?

I’m glad you love it! I’m only good at healthy soups, I got that hunger-survival skill from my Netherlands mother.
I was never good at baking and with just 2 of us we’d eat too much if I was… so I buy a loaf a week from a good artisan baker. So much skill & good ingredients go into it.

Good question. Someone told me I had to ages ago but -now I think about it - I think that’s probably just needed if you want to store the shells longer term as a dry powder. I’m gonna stop bothering.

So jealous you live in NM. Our old friend is visiting there right now, he is in institute of ecotechnics the group that created biosphere 2 in the 90s.
I told him to go find a beautiful Acoma pot.

It is good .. I add mine to the garden and I have been baking and crushing the eggshell for mixing into my soil. The rabbits poops and used hay makes for some extraordinary compost too

I don’t know Trader joes in AU ..
I googled it and they sell pop tins of cinnamon roll dough - Ioved that in the 70s when I lived in USA but no refrigerated canned dough products here.

.. probably poison but I’d still go for those cinnamon rolls.

It’s now 23 years since I left USA.

I was enthralled by the delicate spaghetti harvesting skills of Swiss women.. I am disappointed that I still cannot purchase fine Swiss spaghetti in my grocery store.

Rabbits are my spirit animal. They are shy but form strong bonds and are devoted, loving and attentive. They are clever, industrious, keep themselves and their home very clean, curious and, while cautious, can be brave when defending their nest. They are also cute, fluffy and slightly goofy.

Same, but then I realised I’ve done it my whole life, my mother was frugal generation and she taught me.… But for a lot of people rubbish is seen as just council’s problem. I think Tasmania has a really long way to go.

Lovely! I get a bit of moss too, it’s so pretty like velvet. It’s been about 4 years now, I put down a bit of clover seed and it’s made it’s own way in the world since then. I still hand weed the few dandelions that make it through , feed them to my rabbits.

10 years ago I discovered how special rabbits are. They teach me to be patient and I think you must be very sensitive to relate to rabbits. Every cute thing they do makes perfect sense when you remember they are prey animals!! They are wicked smart about their environment to hide and escape.

true! I’m in Evandale, it’s high on the quaint spectrum. We & our house are quaint on the outside, but modern on the inside.
