When it comes to Belgium, never assume something from a news title. This country is so f***ked up that things would rather go backwards or sideways than as straight as advertised. Trust me, I speak of experience.

My greatest fear is international escalation. Not in terms of a hypothetical WW3, but in the spreading of the conflict to countries totally outside the situation, which would lead to an even more extreme opposition of opinions up to a point where any debate or negotiation would be doomed to failure.

Both the Hamas and the Israel government must resign unconditionally, or innocent casualties from both sides will keep on carrying all the burden of this atrocious war.

And Israel must withdraw from all illegally occupied territories.

Then only can peace talk for a 2-state solution happen.

I guess that's part of the strategy turning Twitter/X into the universal app he's been advertising for ages now. Securing a critical mass of banking information ensures that the financial part of the app will run smoother than if he's got nothing to use as a foundation for the service.

Another thing (but I think I mentioned it earlier) is that on Bluesky, it was quite easy to find people speaking French. Although I consider myself fluent in English, I always found it easier to initiate a network on a new site by exchanging primarily in your native language.

But the real issue I see here is that when you follow people they don't engage back. So I ended up unfollowing 90% of the people I used to follow...

Nope. Got there early april, so far got already about 350 followers, following around 250 people, and more everyday, and it has become my primary social network since then (completely moved away from facebook/twitter and not counting Instagram in in the list since I'm not using it as a SN).

It's a bit hard to engage from scratch; you need at least some known contacts on the platform and then you build your own network from that common ground. I've been here for months, followed a bunch of accounts, but ended unfollowing because there was actually zero engagement from their side.

I'm not comparing Spoutible to Twitter/X, but I do compare it with Bluesky, who offers much less features while providing a much higher engagement rate and a very strong sense of community. In that sense, I find Spoutible comparable to T2, which also feels like a desert to me...
