I teach a class on Gaiman's work, and did #Neverwhere the first time I taught it. It is a novelization of a BBC television production he wrote, and it does feel like a TV show. I would recommend it, but not before Good Omens, American Gods, or the Sandman series. These rise above genre, imo.

I would read this normally - although classic fantasy is more my speed any fantasy is fine. I’ve never lived in a truly urban area, so some of the messaging is lost on me. I do enjoy NG sense of humor and oblique POV. #SBBC #Neverwhere

I have read #Neverwhere because I am a fan of Neil Gaiman and also surrounded by sci-fi/fantasy fans so it happens. I did enjoy it and would recommend it.

This is my type of book...audio first time/read myself second time. Both of which i would recommend.
b/c it's a good v evil story, it's a personal growth story, and I love when new worlds are created, the history levels of #Neverwhere is an interesting addition.

Q1. Neverwhere is definitely the kind of book I would normally read—and I have read it a few times. I recently recommended it to a colleague looking for books that give a good sense of London. I will never take the Underground for granted after reading Neverwhere!

#Neverwhere isn't a book I'd normally read. While I love fantasy and books with magical elements (and have enjoyed every Gaiman book I've read, including the Books of Magic comics), I don't tend to veer towards urban fantasy. I would absolutely recommend it. I'm a slow reader, but plowed through it!

Yes, I even read it before, but re-read for this. I like Neil Gaiman, read most of his stuff. His fantasy is of high whimsy, medium stakes, light humor variety. He specializes in superimposing fantasy worlds onto the real one, making you wonder about the boundaries and what if.

Yes! I have read Neverwhere several times—I’m a Neil Gaiman fan for sure. I especially like the audio version read by Neil himself.
Would definitely recommend

I love the irreverent adult card game Cards Against Humanity. The wacky combinations of questions and offensive amswers can be downright funny.

Once Spoutible launches its audio/video Pods feature, I say there should be Cards Against Humanity parties on Spoutible. It might be a fun thing to do. 🙂
