I find myself going through the “flurry” of Twitter-likes these days. I have concerns with all of them, but I am hoping each keep trying to foster a positive community to the best of their ability. In the last week or two, even BlueSky showed racism and antiblackness. Unfortunate. 🫥

Just today, NC State Legislators have put up four anti-trans bills for vote. With Republicans having a veto-proof supermajority, the LGBTQIA+ community is no longer safe in this beautiful state.

The last few weeks have been nightmarish to watch unfold. Here in North Carolina (GOP corruption of the highest degree) and throughout many southern/midwest states. It infuriates me to see the hate that's being spewed towards people who simply wish to exist.

It's profoundly absurd just how many Anti-Trans legislature has been pushed by the Republicans in the past three years alone (roughly around 800%, iirc). It always boils down to the fear-mongering and radicalizing any polarizing views. Infuriatingly frustrating. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Ever find yourself in a slump and can't really conceive a way out of it? Yeah, I'm pretty much in that state these days. Low motivation, burned out, exhausted, and just generally depressed. Therapy and medication aren't doing anything to bump me out of it, so I'm riding the "low tide wave" for now.

It's always pained me to watch as history repeats itself. Humanity's greatest weakness is fear - and the first thing that politicians focus on is fueling fear and outrage (a subsequent response to fear). Maybe one day we'll learn from history, but I fear it isn't any time soon.

As a Florida teacher, I fear for my students current & future. Teaching has been my passion for my whole career (30 years). The Republicans here are slowly dismantling public education, from book bans to altered history/civics to anti-LGBTQ policies.
