In Explore tab. I get that Explore is supposed to show more than Timeline. But if a blocked user can't show up in Explore, then a blocked News source shouldn't either. Especially since there's a News tab and who wants to click on it if they know they're going to be bombarded with bad news sources?

Yes. Thanks for posting! Very clear and informative.

I didn’t see anything about learning/processing the emotional value of words, though—I.e. what kinds of emotion are associated with a word and the strength of those emotions. Anyone know if that’s also part of the AI language training model?

I definitely think it’s complicated. But the discussion has been going on for close to 10 years now. So I think there’s also a lot of kicking the can down the road.

Yeah I get that. But the article also says they made a lot of assumptions about various factors (water usage, etc.). So I think the most accurate part of the article is the beginning when it says the whole issue is complicated.

That being said, it was interesting and gave me a lot to think about.

“This assessment does not take marine litter into account—so as far as that gigantic problem is concerned, plastics are almost certainly the worst, since they don’t break down on a timescale meaningful to human or animal life.”

Did the plastic bag industry pay for this study?

Wow. You're unbelievably full of yourself. Young?! How would I have 20 years of experience in tech AND own my own business if I was young? And why is it so threatening to everyone that I find problems w/ Spoutible? I can support it and still wish it was better. Anyway, enough of this crap. Bye.

Mastadon. Hive. Instagram. TikTok. And yes, there are a lot of great people still clinging to Twitter because it works the way they want it to, even if they don't like the direction it's going. So even if I feel Spoutible is now the best choice, it's not at all the only choice in town.

I understand the reasons. And I personally don't mind waiting. But there are a lot of new people trying Spoutible, and if it doesn't satisfy them in the first day or 2 they're gone. So I really want Spoutible to ramp up quickly and become what it deserves to be: the first choice for everyone.

Lot of assumptions there. Yes, I've used many brand new sites--even created some in 15 yrs of setting up commercial sites. But the patience of new users is very limited. If they don't see improvement quickly, they leave. Since I really want Spoutible to succeed, I'm hoping it can adjust quickly.

Used to hunt in fields & woods near us. One day as I was kneeling down, gun went off. Luckily it was pointed in the air. Did skeet shooting with dad & neighbor. Shotgun went off accidentally in my dads hands. It was pointed at neighbor’s house. 😬 So glad I don’t own a gun anymore.

Thanks everyone for the clarification. Did not connect the compass with the word "Explore" because that word doesn't appear if you're looking at Spoutible in a phone browser (which is how I'm usually viewing it) unless you click on the menu icon. But also the content does not always seem as differen
