Never enough violet photos for me.
My favorite bedspread from childhood had violets on it.

Never lived where Hosta plants thrive. I'm beginning to enjoy them.

This must be why I have always loved gardening!

Surprisingly, even the soil improves mood. One kind of bacteria found in the soil stimulates areas of the brain and produce serotonin which helps us to feel good. The next time you are in the garden, get dirty.

We get some interesting volunteer blooms because our columbines are in about a 60 foot row and cross pollination is happening, the seeds aren't true to the parent plant. I don't mind. I like the variety.

Gardening season officially started today! Yard waste bin and 10 bags full of yard debris. Tons of rabbit damage due to our brutal winter, but too soon to determine casualties.

For #TuesdayBlue : Our grape hyacinths are multiplying well. Most are darker purple-blue, but the sky-blue ones are spreading too. There are a few bicolor ones scattered around. #gardening

Planted, fed, and watered 39 red onion starts. Nice big earthworm emerged to see what was happening, so I moved it to safety. Did some weeding. Cool, cloudy day perfect for working outdoors. #Garden2023 #gardening
